Desk Set Up For Online WebinarThe law of defamation, whether for libel or slander, whether online or offline, whether defaming of a person or business, contains many complex twists and turns applicable to what may be deemed wrongful and what may be protected by various democratic rules of free speech such as fair comment, privilege, among other rules.

Defamation Litigation explains:

  • what determines whether words are defamatory
  • what notices are required, if any
  • what special limitations periods may apply
  • what is the defence of, and exceptions to, fair comment
  • what is the defence of, and exceptions to, qualified privilege
  • what heads of damages apply and how are damages determined
  • what else you need to know about defamation law

Event Details:
Session 1

Session 2
